Pre and Post Flight Checklist

Preparing for Travel

  • Bathe Pet: Bathe your pet at least 24-48 hours before their flight. This is a mandatory requirement for in-cabin pet transportation.
  • Health Check Up: Schedule a vet visit to check your pet's health and update their vaccinations. This will ensure that your pet is ready to travel and meets the airline's standards.
  • Crate Training: Train your pet to get used to their travel crate. Start early and make it a positive experience. This will help your pet feel more comfortable and relaxed during their journey.
  • Documentation: Prepare all the necessary documents for your pet, such as health certificates, vaccination records, and any other paperwork required by the airline. Make      sure they are valid and complete.
  • Feeding prior to travel: Avoid feeding your pet 4-6 hours before flying. This will prevent them from needing to go potty while in the air. However, we will provide potty pads in the carrier in case of emergencies.
  • Packing essentials: Pack all the essential items for your pet, such as food, treats, medications (if needed), comfort items (such as a blanket, toy, or a t-shirt that smells like you), and any specific instructions for feeding and care. Please give these items to Courtney when you drop off your pet.

Preparing for Arrival

  • Confirm arrival details: Confirm arrival details with Courtney: she will keep you updated on the arrival time, flight number, and the pet pick-up location at the airport.
  • Bring necessary identification: Bring valid photo ID and any required documents: make sure you have the necessary identification and paperwork to retrieve your pet from the airport or airline staff.
  • Familiarize yourself with the airport: If you don't know the airport well, check the map and locate the pet pick-up area beforehand. This will help you find your way quickly and easily when you arrive.
  • Arrive early: Arrive early at the airport: give yourself enough time to deal with any possible delays or rocedures. This will reduce your stress and ensure a smooth experience.
  • Stay calm and patient: Stay calm and patient at all times: airports can be crowded and chaotic, so it's important to stay calm and patient throughout the process. Remember that your pet may be nervous or confused after the flight, so they need your calm and reassuring presence.

Frequently Asked Questions

- Do you travel standby?

  • Yes, Courtney travels standby to offer you a low-cost option. She tries her best to stick to your preferred dates, but sometimes things like weather or flight availability can cause delays. However, most of the time, she can deliver your pet on the same day.

- Can I purchase a confirmed seat on a flight?

  • Yes, you can. A confirmed seat ensures your pet's travel. You will pay for the airfare, delivery fee, and pet fee by the airline. Courtney will take care of the rest and make it a smooth experience for you and your pet.

- Is a Health Certificate required for a pet to fly?

  • Yes, it is. Your pet needs a valid health certificate from a veterinarian no more than 30 days before the delivery date.

- Can I track the flight my fur baby is on?

  • Yes, you can. You can use Google to search for the airline and flight number and see the latest information on the flight time, terminal, and gate. Courtney will also keep in touch with you throughout the journey as long as in-flight WiFi is available.

- What type of payment methods do you accept?

  • You need to pay a part of the transport fee when you book. The rest of the balance is due in cash when you pick up your pet. If you book within 2 weeks of the delivery date, you need to pay the full transport fee upfront. All transactions have a 5% processing fee. Deposits are not refundable for any reason, but you can reschedule the delivery date if needed.

- Can I have more than one pet delivered to the same destination?

  • Yes, you can, for an extra fee. Courtney can take up to two small litter mates in one carrier if their total weight is less than 20 pounds.

- Is there an additional fee for flying a pet in the cabin?

  • Pet cabin fees are usually not applicable for most deliveries. In some cases, pet fees may be required and must be paid before the delivery is completed. Pet fees are separate from the delivery charges and depend on the airline policies.
